Before Signing: We'll spend 2-3 phone calls getting to know one another, answering any questions you have about the market and the process to ensure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Listing Your Jet All you need to provide is: photos (which we'll schedule), maintenance reports, individual highlights & a brief history of your jet.
Pricing a Jet depends on a lot of factors: airframe time, engine time, avionics, overall physical condition of the aircraft, history, etc. However, each listing receives a thorough vRef valuation as well as comprehensive market reports to give you an understanding of where your jet sits in the marketplace.
How expansive is your network? Do you have a list of the last 100+ buiyers who are actively looking for your model Jet?
Listing your own jet sounds like a good idea, but you have to ask: “What is your time worth?” Do you have the time to handle calls at all times of the day? Are you interested in qualifying every single call?
Sales is our job. We are commited to selling your Jet and representing it 24/7, unlike a pilot or management company that may have other duties.Â
At the same time, we love to work with your current team of pilots, mechanics, lawyers, etc. We value collaboration and together we will create a power-team to ensure the process is as smooth and hassle free as possible without wasting time or costing you extra money.
At JLA we value relationships. Sure, we want to get your jet sold ASAP and for the best price, but we believe the best way to do that is through a partnership of mutual trust. An “exclusive” agreement between an agent and a seller represents a mutual understanding that both parties’ futures are intimately connected and that means we’re going to do everything necessary to ensure a professional, ethical, and successful sale.
If for some reason you’re concerned about the term of the listing agreement, just say something! Depending on market conditions, it may be appropriate to change the term of the listing. On average, however, most business jets are staying on the market for AT LEAST 120 days unless they are extremely aggressively priced.
After years in the industry, we’ve discovered there’s a buyer for every Jet, at the right price. Given your Jet’s unique “history”, it may take longer to find the right buyer, and in these circumstances much will have to do with appropriate pricing, but rest assured we’ve sold parts planes, planes with missing documents, and planes with holes in them!
We get paid when YOU get paid. In fact, we start investing thousands of dollars at the outset of the listing agreement to get professional photos and get your Aircraft listed on all the major marketing platforms for business jets.
This is not uncommon! What we have found works best is that you inform your potential buyer of your intent to list the aircraft for sale with a broker to encourage him or her to act! Depending on how serious the buyer is, we can even write them into the contract as an “exclusion” where by the commission can be reduced if someone you’ve already engaged with ends up buying the aircraft. This way, we can still aid in the processes making sure all the proper steps are taken, and serve as a buffer between both parties (particularly helpful if you are friendly and something goes south).
